The first thing to do is to think about why you want to pamper yourself. Is it because you just want a little pick me up after a long day? Or maybe it is just for fun. Either way these tips can be used by anyone, and all it takes is a little time. Not only are these going to save the money sitting in your bank, but they will also help the environment. Without having to drive to a spa, you not only save money but you also aren't putting toxics into the air by driving there. Do you need anymore reasons to keep reading? I didn't think so.
The first Free beauty tip is so simple. Eat more fruits. The amino acids in fruits will help you from the inside out. They are a building block to forming proteins. Every person needs to eat amino acids in order for their body to function properly. Some types are produced within the body, but there are over 20 types that must be eaten or drank in order for the body to have them. We can get these from eating fruits that are high in amino acids. (Wikipedia, 2008) Another benefit of eating lots of fruit is to our immune system. The antioxidants found in fruits help to keep us healthy, and if we are healthy we naturally will show it. Nothing is more beautiful than looking healthy.
Another free beauty tip is to give yourself a manicure and pedicure in the comfort of your own living room. Why pay someone up to $30 to get your nails done? You can take the nail polish you already have, some nail clippers, a little bit of olive oil, cotton balls, and a nail file. Once you gather it all up, make your living room your spa. Turn the lights down, light some candles, put on some soothing music, get yourself comfortable. Then take the olive oil, which is a natural anti-ager, and put some on a cotton ball. Take the cotton ball and rub the oil into the cuticles on each nail to soften them. After you get them soft, gently take your thumb nail and push them back towards your knuckle. Not too hard or far. The cuticle is what helps your nails stay on the nail beds. After you push them back, file your nails to make them smooth, and even. Take the oiled cotton ball and rub the nail with it to remove the dust created from filing your nails. After you wipe them off with a clean cotton ball grab your nail polish. Roll the bottle between your hand and thigh. Don't shake it, that causes bubbles to form in the polish and can mess up the finish. Paint your nails. Then sit and relax for at least a half hour so that you don't mess up the paint.
And what if you want to darken or lighten your hair? That is a simple free fix too. To darken it, simply make some coffee, let it cool and soak your hair in it. Let it soak for a good half hour, adding more if needed to keep it wet. Shampoo and condition as usual. This should darken it a little, nothing like taking a blonde and making her hair black. To continue darkening it repeat this twice a week for a couple of weeks, then when ever you feel like a change. A simple way to lighten your hair is the age old used lemon juice method. Add 3 tablespoons of lemon juice to your leave in conditioner. If you don't use a leave in conditioner get a reusable spray bottle, fill it with warm water and the lemon juice. Sprits hair after your shower, style and go. The more your in the sun the lighter it will get.
Another free beauty tip is search the web for eyebrow stencils. A good web site is found at http://www.yestheyrefake.net/eyebrow_stencils.htm. They have a print out that you get for free. Print it up, pick out the shape that works best for your face type, and then take an exact-o knife and cut out the darkened eyebrow. Then place it on your eyebrow and use a dark eye shadow with a brush and apply it to the exposed area. Then take the tweezers and start plucking away at the stray hairs around the eyebrow. Make sure that you don't over tweeze. That will look worse than just leaving them the way they started out.
Just remember the best beauty tip is always free, love yourself they way you are and you will be the most beautiful person in the world!
