Where to Find Printable Camping Coloring Pages

Sandra Essary
Camping season is upon us, and kids of all ages are looking forward to spending some time in the great outdoors. One way to get your children revved up about camping is to give them free camping coloring pages to color.

In searching for free camping coloring pages, I found some sites that had pictures of objects but no people in them. I have avoided those kinds of sites because frankly, camping is much more fun with people.

First School Camping Coloring Pages

This website has a lot of sports on it, and one thing they consider a sport (although I would say a rather relaxing sport) is camping. Here are free camping coloring pages of a woman hiking, the same woman in color, kayaking, and the same kayaker in color.

Fun Camping Coloring Pages

Lots of free camping coloring pages grace the presence of these five pages that have a total of 30 camping coloring pages. On page one there are camping coloring pages of three different camping vehicles, two campfires, and a boy sitting close to a campfire. The rest of these free camping coloring pages include pictures of kids camping, boys or girls cooking (think Scouts), a boy in a tent, a boy backpacking, various tents, cooking, campsites, boys and campfire, and a great little wall tent perched on a mountain.

National Park Service

Although this site only has one camping coloring page, it has great detail and so I am including it here. It depicts two hikers backpacking along a stream with mountains in the background. Detail like this in a camping coloring page is what you would expect from the National Park Service.

Preschool Coloring Book

No less than 29 free camping coloring pages are here, including tents, a boy and dad backpacking, dog backpacker, girl backpacking, star gazing, and singing around the campfire. Most are very simple line drawings and are suitable for preschool through elementary grades.

Kinderart

Kinderart has hiking and camping coloring pages plus fishing and canoeing coloring pages too. Each category has one really nice, line drawing coloring page with a background and moderate detail. The hiking coloring page is of two boys hiking, and the camping coloring page is of a person camping, all bundled up with morning coffee or hot chocolate.

The Color

The few free camping coloring pages here include a boy fishing, a boy hiking with his father, and kids at summer camp. These are simple line drawings, suitable for elementary age. One nice thing about these camping coloring pages is that they can be printed out, or colored and emailed online.

Kaboose

Nine cute free camping coloring pages include a boy roasting marshmallows, a mother and daughter by the campfire, a boy in a tent, and hiking buddies. These are very cute line drawings with some background detail.

From Kampgrounds of America we get six very nice, detailed free camping coloring pages centered around campground life. I like these coloring pages for their detail - it will keep the kids busy for a long time and make nice looking pictures to put up on your refrigerator.

You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don't make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can't take their eyes off you.

Good information for those with kiddies...I guess free things to color is better than coloringbooks!
