Free Cardmaking Crafts Project Idea: Make Your Own Greeting Card
"Sending All My Love" Greeting Card with Stamping
Supplies You Will Need for Making This Greeting Card:
One page from the heart shaped acrylic mini keychain album by Clear Scraps
"Sending All My Love" clear stamp from the " Oval Office - small box" stamp set by My Stampbox
Heart die-cut from the "My Neighborhood" 12X12 Diecut Cardstock sheet by My Little Shoebox
The green striped paper is the "58th Avenue" design from the "My Neighborhood" collection by My Little Shoebox.
The scalloped border is cut out of the "Prince Lane " patterned paper from the "My Neighborhood" collection by My Little Shoebox
Turquoise colored cardstock
Circle template (I used the Fiskars template from the Shape Xpress shape cutter system, but you can use any circle template you like.) The circle I used is sized at 3.5 inches.
StazOn solvent ink pad in Olive Green
Cat Eye Fluid Chalk ink pad in Olive Pastel
Versacolor Bamboo ink pad
Assorted dye inks from Rubber Stampede
Tsukineko walnut ink spray bottle in the cornflower blue color
Strathmore Bristol Board; you could substitute white cardstock instead of this, but if you do, the card won't be as sturdy.
Paper Trimmer (I used a Purple Cow Ultimate Trimmer, but you can use whichever paper trimmer you happen to have on hand.)
Scissors
Either a bone folder and ruler, or a Scor-Pal scoring tool
Adhesive of your choice; Zip Dry paper glue is a good choice if you aren't sure which adhesive to use with the clear acrylic. If you don't have Zip Dry, clear Glue Dots are also a good choice.
Instructions for Making the Base of the Greeting Card:
Cut a piece of Strathmore Bristol board measuring 7 inches wide by 10 inches high. Score the Bristol board horizontally at the halfway point (5 inches) using your bone folder or Scor-Pal. Set aside for later use.
Instructions for Making the Front of the Greeting Card:
Cut a piece measuring 7 inches by 5 inches out of the green striped paper.
Cut a piece measuring 6 inches by 4 inches out of the turquoise cardstock.
Cut a scalloped border out of the "58th Avenue" patterned paper by My Little Shoebox.
Cut a 3.5 inch circle out of Bristol board using the circle template.
Spray a small amount of Tsukineko Cornflower blue walnut ink onto the circle. Let it dry.
Ink the circle using Olive Pastel Fluid Chalk, Bamboo Versacolor ink, and various blue and green dye inks by Rubber Stampede. (You can substitute other inks you have on hand if you prefer.)
Ink the Clear Scraps acrylic heart with StazOn ink in Olive Green. Let it dry.
Stamp the "Sending All My Love" sentiment using turquoise colored ink on a scrap of Bristol board or white cardstock. Cut it out with scissors.
Punch out the heart-shaped die cut.
Assemble the greeting card elements onto the green striped paper as pictured, and then attach the front of the card to the card base.
Send the card to a loved one or add it to your card stash for later use.
