Free Chocolate Bar Coupon Available from Mars on Fridays This Summer

Mars' Real Chocolate Relief Act: Times Are Tough; Have Some Free Chocolate!

Carly Hart
The Mars Company wants you to have a free chocolate bar. On Fridays starting May 8, Mars is giving away 250,000 coupons good for a free chocolate/candy bar each Friday under their Real Chocolate Relief Act promotion. The Free Chocolate Fridays program will run on Fridays until September 25, so if you miss out this Friday, or if their limit of 250,000 free candy bar coupons is reached quickly, chances are you will be able to score your free coupon before the promotion ends. Registration is required and consumers will need to provide a mailing address in order to claim their free coupon for a single sized candy bar.

Which brands are eligible for purchase with the free coupon?

Snickers loves will be satisfied! Snickers bars, as well as Milky Way, 3 Musketeer, M&Ms, Twix and Dove are all part of the Free Chocolate Fridays promotion, giving consumers a nice choice of a chocolate bar to give them that little pick me up in this tough economy.

Free Chocolate Bars are limited

Each Friday a mere 250,000 free coupons are available; however, savvy consumers would do well to read the Terms and Conditions since the promotion does limit consumers to one coupon per email address per Friday, with a total of four free coupons allowed per household for the duration of the Free Chocolate Fridays promotion period. In order to claim a free coupon, the requester must be 13 years or older. Employees and family members of Mars Snackfoods are ineligible for this promotion.

When can I sign up for a free chocolate bar coupon?

The site goes live tomorrow at 9:00 A.M. Eastern and chocolate hungry consumers can request their free coupon from 9:00 A.M. Eastern until 11:59 P.M.,Eastern or while supplies last. Expect this promotion to be popular, which could cause frustration in getting into the website or submitting your registration. Until tomorrow, however, chocolate lovers can visit the site, http://www.realchocolate.com, and enter their email address for a reminder. Once requested, expect your free coupon to arrive in the mail in approximately six weeks.

Bear in mind that you must complete your registration within five minutes, lest you forfeit your free chocolate bar coupon. Let's hope that Mars does a better job with managing the traffic expected for their Free Chocolate Fridays promotion than Dr. Pepper did with its Axl Rose/Chinese Democracy public relations debacle when consumers who wanted to cash in on a free Dr. Pepper coupon were unable to get through to the site to claim due to the servers being overwhelmed with traffic.
