Free Christmas Card Templates

Making Your Own Cards is Fun and Easy

Kim Brown
With the holidays coming up fast it's time to dust off the Christmas card list again; if you have one that is. I don't keep an actual list on paper, I save all the cards I receive and then send to those who I received cards from. Then it's fun to recycle the previous years Christmas cards by cutting squares out of the picture on the front to make gift tags. If you can't bear to cut up the cards, another outlet for creativity is to make your own cards from templates you download and print. I have searched the web for free templates that are easy to use and look nice, you will find my choices below. All you need to get started is paper and a printer. If you want to get more elaborate you can purchase special card stock and envelopes but as the last site on the list will show, you don't' even need to do that.

Disney Card
This site has a half fold Christmas card template from Disney. It's a homey snow scene. This site also has a nice selection of Christmas cards in letter form and a new year's letter. It lets you easily use your own photos for personalized Christmas cards. The Christmas letters are a nice alternative to cards.

Decorate your own
This card has 10 free Christmas card templates, these are simple Christmas images you can print and then embellish with colored pencils, markers, glitter or whatever you like. These would be good to get the kids involved in, print them out and have a little card decorating party.

Gift tag and Card
This site has a happy holiday snowman Christmas card and as a bonus a matching gift tag. The gift tags are cute; you can punch holes and tie it to the gift with ribbon or yarn or use tape.

Email cards
This site features free Christmas email card templates. Save the printing step and email your seasons greetings. This site makes it easy to be creative and you don't even need to buy ink. These would be nice to email to business contacts that you might not send a traditional Christmas card to.

Coloring Fun
This site offers five choices of Christmas card templates and gives you the choice of black and white or color. These holiday cards are designed to be folded in quarters. The black and white options would be perfect for kid's to color.

Trees and Snowflakes
This Holiday card template has white trees and snowflakes on blue background. A simple design but very pretty and cheerful.

Best Site
This site offers cards that fit in a standard size envelope so you don't need to buy special paper and envelopes. They also have clear instructions to make your own envelopes from a piece of paper. There are a huge variety of Christmas cards to choose from and all are free. There is also a template for an after Christmas thank you and a Hanukkah card. This site is my favorite because of the variety and there are plenty of ideas to make your own Christmas cards and save money doing it.

I would recommend doing a test print first in black and white to make sure that everything is lined up and looks as you want it. Once the Christmas card is perfected get the stamps out and print away!
