The first idea that I would like to give to you would be a miniature Christmas tree. You can do this by collecting a few pine branches. It is your decision as to whether you use live branches or artificial. You are going to want to place these branches in a coffee can. (I am going to tell you how to decorate it below). Add some miniature Christmas ornaments to your tree.
Now you are going to decorate your can. The idea that I have that is really cute is for you to make a Santa suit. You can wrap the can with red construction paper. After you are done with this you will take and make a belt out of black construction paper. You can either make a black belt buckle or a gold one out of gold paper. One other item that you will need is a white strip of paper that is going to run vertically down the Santa suit. This represents the white in Santa's suit; the fur part. In fact, if you want, you can make this part furry. Last, you are going to attach Santa's belt. You now have a miniature looking Christmas tree that is being held by Santa's suit. This will look really adorable in your entryway.
Another idea that I would like to share with you is decoupage. You can decoupage your plant pots. This is a lot of fun to do. You can find decoupage glue at your local craft store. It is very easy to apply. You can also make many wonderful items with it. Don't worry about the cost because it is very inexpensive.
For your decoupage Christmas plant pot you are going to want to find some cute wrapping paper or napkins. Following the directions on the bottle of decoupage glue to apply the picture to your pot. Let it dry. You will want to apply another coat to make it shiny. These pots will be great to put out on your porch or in any room that gets traffic. They are great to display. I know that you are going to get a lot of compliments on these.
The last decoration that I would like to encourage you to make is to make a basket that is filled with fresh fruits and nuts. This basket is very easy to make. All you need to do is use a little bit of imagination.
Take some fresh fruit such as apples and oranges and place them into a wicker basket. Buy some nice fresh nuts like walnuts and add it to the basket. Next you will want to add some cinnamon sticks. These always make everything smell so nice. Wrap a little bow around each cinnamon stick. This will add even more of a home touch. When you are all finished, garnish the basket with a pretty bow. Display this basket in an entryway for a warm welcome to friends and family.
I hope that you have a wonderful holiday season. I pray that blessings and peace come to your homes. Enjoy some of these ideas that I have given to you. Remember to get the kids involved and create some beautiful and lasting memories together.
