To Make This Free Craft Tote Bag Pattern You Will Need:

Exterior Fabric

Interior Fabric

Scissors

Sewing Machine

Thread

Tape Measure

To get started you need to choose yoru fabrics. If you use a nice heavy weight fabric like canvas or twill or even upholstery fabric to make the craft tote bag, then you do not need interfacing. If you use alight weight fabric, then iron a fusible interfacing to the back of it for stability.

Now, go ahead and cut out four pieces of fabric, 2 interiors and 2 exterior to 14 inches tall and 20 inches wide. You will also need 4 pieces, two of the exterior and two of the interior to 20inches wide and 10 inches tall.

To make the handles for your craft tote bag pattern you will need two pieces 4 inches wide and 22 inches long. You can also use 2 pieces of 22 inch long cotton webbing in any color you want. This makes great handles on any fabric bag pattern.

Now, take the four smaller pieces and lay them all pattern side up on your work surface. You want to fold the top edge over ¼ inch and iron this down. Fold one more time ¼ inch and iron again. Sew this neat edge down. You can sew near the top edge and a second line near the seam.

Repeat on all four pieces. These will be used to make the pockets on the craft bag.

Now, on to assembling your fabric tote ebay pattern.

Tae one piece of exterior fabric and lay if pattern side up on the table. Top it off with one of the coordinating 10 inch piece of fabric. Line the bottom edges up.

Pin into place. Now, use your sewing machine to sew 3 to 4 vertical lines attaching the 1o inch piece to the exterior fabric. You want to simply create sections on the piece, which will be your pockets. You can customize these to be as wide or narrow as you need for your craft sullies. There is no need to sew the far right and left edge or the bottom, these will be taken care of later.

Repeat on the other exterior side ad the interior pieces as well.

Now, make your handles. You wan tot fold each strip in half lengthwise. Fold the rough ends in and iron down. Sew a ¼ inch seam allowance along each long size. Repeat on other handle.

Now, take the first exterior piece and lay it face up on your table. Top off with the other exterior piece face down. Sew the left and right side and bottom.

Repeat this on the interior pieces of the craft tote bag pattern.

Turn the exterior shell inside out. Slip the interior shell inside. Fold the top edges down ad iron flat if needed. Slip the handle into place and pin into place.

Sew this top seam with a ¼ inch seam allowance and your free craft tote bag pattern is finished.
