Crocheted Snowflake Suncatcher

Materials:
Sport weight white acrylic yarn
Crochet hook the size E or G
2 CDs

Pattern Make two:

Chain 5, join with a sl st to for a ring

Round 1: Ch 3, 15 dc in ring, join with a sl st in top of beg of Ch 3 (16 dc)

Round 2: Ch 4, *dc in next st, ch 1*, repeat between * * around, join with a sl st in 3rd ch of the beg ch 4 (16 ch 1 spaces)

Round 3: sl st in first ch 1 space, ch 1, sc in same space, ch 3, (sc in next ch 1 sp, ch 3) 15 times, join with a sl st in first sc (16 ch 3 sp)

Round 4: sl st in first ch 3 space, ch 1, sc in same space, ch 3, (sc in next ch 3 space, ch 3) 15 times, join with a sl st in first sc (16 ch 3 sp)

Round 5: sl st in first ch 3 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 4, (sc in next ch 3 space, ch 4) 15 times, join with sl st in first sc (16 ch 4 sp)

Round 6: sl st in first ch 4 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 4, (sc in next ch 4 sp, ch 4) 15 times, join with sl st in first sc (16 ch 4 sp)

Because everyone crochets at a different guage, you may only need 5 rounds or maybe you might need 7 rounds. You will have to experiment a little bit. If you need a 7th round, I believe you can just repeat the 6th round.

Do not cut yarn but start single crocheting around the CDs which are printed side in, crocheting through both snowflakes putting three sc in each ch 4 space and one in each sc going through both snowflakes. Continue around ending with sl in first sc to join.

You can either cut the yarn and weave it in or leave it for hanging. I like to cut and weave it in and then use fishing line for hanging.

ALTERNATE FINISH

After Round 6 you can crochet a pretty edging which makes a much prettier finish as follows:

Turn, ch 4, sc next stitch, ch 5, sc same space as sc. Ch 4, sc next chain 4 space* 6 times. Then ch 4, sc next st, ch 4, sc in same sp, ch 4, sc next space ch 6 * 2 times. This makes a pretty edging.

Hope this patterns makes sense and you can make many suncatchers to enjoy.
