Free Cushion Cover Patterns

Karen Barnes
I have seen some ugly cushion covers on the patio furniture and window seat cushions. As for the shapes of the cushions for the patio furniture and window seats, I have found plenty I have liked.

I have made cushion covers even for my cushions I have bought at stores because I didn't like the fabric and the colors of the fabric. I even found making the cushion covers when my daughter was a toddler a great way to keep the actual fabric of the cushions clean. We all know how toddlers are when they are learning to feed themselves. The messes they make is unbelievable.

The downside to the cushion covers for the dinette chairs is I couldn't find a pattern for those to add to the list. Those types of cushion covers are simple to make.

The cushions that go on your chairs for your dining room table are square. Cutting out two squares large enough to sew together, a zipper or Velcro, and two strips long enough to tie to the spindles to the back of the chair is all you need. The tie strings will be hemmed and attached to the cushion cover on the ends where the zipper or Velcro space is placed. Find the middle of the tie string and attach it there on the corners of the cushion cover.

If you are tired of the worn out looking cushions around your home, use these free, cushion cover patterns to update your home for next to nothing. This sure beats replacing all those cushions because that can become very costly.

By saving money on refurbishing your cushions with new covers, you will be able to update something else in your home with the savings. A few new updates like this one can get your home out of the decorating slump it's in.

Lounge Cushion Cover

Make a cover for your outside lounge chair. Many of the lounge chair cushions that I have seen at stores have the itchy nylon fabric on them. Rather than having your body itch after sitting on the cushions, cover them with a nice fabric that feels good against your skin. This can also be made for a futon.

Rectangular Cushion Cover

Make a rectangular cushion cover for changing tables, pet beds, box seating under windows, and bench seating. This rectangular cushion cover can also be used to recover the cushions in an RV.
