Free Dell Laptop

How delightful to wake up in the morning have coffee and switch on my PC only to find an Email with a subject line "Surprise! (1) New Dell XPS M1530 Laptop Free". Furthermore it states "You have been chosen to receive a FREE DELL XPS LAPTOP!!

Lucky me, I could really use this and I have never won a big prize before. They give the specs: LCD Screen, Intel Core 2 Duo 2X, light weight, heavy duty. Then they ask you to select the color of the laptop you have just been awarded, pink, blue, red or black. Blue sounds just great to me. You'll never find me carrying around a pink or red laptop, too feminine. Even better it will be shipped to me free via FedEx Ground. It is even signed by the Laptop Giveaway Manager. Wahoo!!!

Being a prudent fellow, I decided to click on Terms and Conditions. First you have to be 18 years old or older. I qualify in this category. The service is offered only in the United States. I meet requirement two. Their Disclaimer of Warranty section mentions something about "as is" and "as available". Huh? Not sure what this means. They also say they can terminate the agreement or cease offering the service at any time. But once the laptop is in my hands, can't I keep it?

Well not exactly. The laptop just doesn't get mailed out to you immediately. You have to sign up for their services and agree to answer all questioners and review all their other products as well.

First after answering all the identity questions, I was asked about my willingness to buy another product. No I didn't want it? Then another product flashes on your screen, and another and another. If you don't want their other products, their tone changes from don't worry, be happy to be afraid be very afraid. Even if you buy another product the screens do not stop. Another product is offered, and another. After several hours of answering questions, I started to get suspicious. This seemed to be the end of this never ending sales pitch and my free laptop was nowhere in sight.

I gave out a lot of personal information during the course of these surveys. Information I could not take back even if I decided not to get the laptop. What is worse, after reading the 5 pages of terms and conditions with my magnifying glass, it became obvious that these questions were a program which continued indefinitely. The laptop would not be delivered to me until I fulfilled the entry of every offer they sent me, not only today but on an ongoing basis.

It was obvious that I was not going to receive my free laptop in my lifetime or the lifetime of my progeny. It became obvious that this offer was not from Dell at all even though the Email was from Dell.Laptop.Givaway. Actually it was from Amazing.Free.Rewards.com. I was amazed! I was not only taken for a ride but they gotten into my address book and taken all my friends Email addresses. They even had the nerve to show me who they had taken from my personal address book. 20 addresses were displayed. I have all the paperwork including these addresses and I have to apologize to my 20 friends in advance.

No, my friends you have not been selected for a free Dell Laptop. I have been scammed and now you will be too. Do not open these Emails! Do not answer the never ending series of questions. Nothing in this world is free and we have just been hoodwinked and our valuable time taken. All I can say is sorry!
