To Make a Free Fabric Computer Tote Sleeve Pattern You Will Need:

Quilted Fabric

Sewing Machine

Tape Measure

Velcro or Snap

Scissors

Canvas

To get started you want to measure how wide and long your lap top is. You may also want to measure how deep it is if it is thick.

Now, cut out two pieces of exterior quilted fabric, two pieces if interior fabric and one piece of interfacing out to this size, but ass 3 inches to the length and the width. You will loose some of this size when sewing, so you need to make is larger than your laptop.

Now, iron the interfacing to the back of the quilted material. Take both pieces of quilted material and sew darts in the two bottom corners. This will make your back wide so your laptop can easily slide in.

Now, lay one face up on the table, top off with the either exertion piece face down. Sew the sides and bottom with a ½ inch seam allowance.

Repeat the darting and sewing steps on the interior pieces. When you sew this one shut though, leave the top and bottom open.

Now, turn the exterior pieces inside out.

Slip the interior fabrics over the exterior pouch. Pin the tops together. Sew the top seam of the fabric laptop sleeve shut with a ½ inch seam allowance.

Turn the whole laptop sleeve inside out.

You are almost finished with the lap top sleeve pattern, only a few more steps. You want to sew the open bottom of the liner shut. Simply fold in the rough edges and iron flat. Sew this seam shut as close to the edge as possible.

Press the liner back into the laptop sleeve pattern. Finally, you can be finshed here or sew a line around the top edge of the sleeve. Do this about ¼ inch down from the top edge to make the edge of the fabric laptop sleeve pattern lay flat.

You are finished! These work for any sized laptop in need of a little padding in your bags.
