Each year, companies find ways to design even cuter holiday decorations than the year before, making your own box of decorations seem less exciting. Instead of rushing out to by those Thanksgiving upgrades, consider making your own using leaf stencils. Not only are they easy to work with, but free, fall leaf stencils abound online. This Thanksgiving, use them to transform your home.

Leaf Stencil Thanksgiving Decorating Ideas

Using a variety of fall leaf stencils, deck out your home or update your older Thanksgiving decorations. Transform a plain green Christmas wreath or some garland using laminated leaves. Print out a dozen leaf stencils and color them orange, red, yellow, and pink. Then laminate and attach to your plain garland or wreath for an instant Thanksgiving decoration. Add acorns and pine cones. Spray paint acorns pea green for some interesting color. If you've got kids, another idea is to laminate placemats and bookmarks using fall leaf stencils. If you don't like the crayon look, you can also color them in Paint and then print them in color.

If your own yard leaves have lost their color, use leaf stencils to make realistic and gorgeous fall leaves for a natural Thanksgiving centerpiece.

This Thanksgiving, stencil fall leaves onto your porch columns, mailbox, or front and back door. Use them to paint or carve pumpkins. Deck out a wheelbarrow or wagon by stenciling or gluing laminated fall leaves along the side. Then fill it with apples, pumpkins, gourds, or hay for an easy Thanksgiving front porch decoration.
