Free Family-Friendly Activities for February in Joplin, Missouri

As February makes its way into our lives, the Missouri Conservation Department is hard at work sponsoring some great family activities. February is a short month so the list of activities is short as well. However, that doesn't mean there isn't some great big fun planned for those who wish to attend.

All that is needed to be a part of these activities is a phone call. One phone call to the Joplin Conservation office and you are all set. So look through the list and don't delay, call 417- 629-3423 to register for these upcoming activities.

Tuesday February, 9 -- 6 - 8 pm

Got Flint: Woodsman Knowledge

Join an experienced woodsman to learn how to decipher all the animal signs left behind. This program will take place at the Walter Woods Conservation Area.

Thursday February, 18 -- 6 - 7:30 pm

Introduction to Trout Fishing

Have you always wanted to go trout fishing? Well join in the fun and learn the basics about trout fishing. This program will cover the places to fish in Missouri, what equipment is needed, what bait to use, and how to cook and clean the catch. This program will take place at the Walter Woods Conservation Area.

Saturday February, 20 -- 12 - 6 pm

Vulture Ventures

This program will take place at Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery in Branson. No registration is required for this program so come join in the fun. For more details on this program please call 417- 334-4865.
