Ben There, Dan That!

Ben There, Dan That and with this game I actually have not. I wasn't fortunate to be a PC kid back in the day so when I was busy playing Zelda and Mario I missed out on popular 90s favorites such as the bad-ass hero we all wanted to be, Duke Nukem, the gritty first-person shooter, Doom, and the memorable point and click adventure series, Sam & Max. Tonight's title is a total throw-back to the that series of games and an excellent one to boot. Your adventure begins with Ben on a mission to bring back Dan in a most unpleasant method, that you will soon figure out. You can either control the game using the keyboard or, because it is a point and click adventure you can use the mouse which is the easiest. You cycle through a series of actions such as observe, walk, talk, item usage, and most importantly Dan. As Ben you are the brains and Dan is the action avatar that will open the doors, flick on/off "dicky" light switches, and pretty much touch everything that you won't.

The dynamic between the pair is hilarious as they swear and swagger their way through the game. So if you like taking a break from action intensive games and want to use your brain a little more then usual then do yourself, and the developers, a favor and download this sweet treat. The team that made this game also has a few other great titles that can be found on their website along with tonight's download; Ben There, Dan That! Enjoy, but first read over my installation notes after you've installed the game!

**Important Installation Notes**

Run the "winsetup.exe" file found in the Start Menu after you've installed the game.

Click the checkbox to run the game in a window instead of full screen, as it looks better not blown up.

Under the "Digital Sound" drop-down tab select "DirectSound (Hardware mixer)" otherwise the audio will sound harshly distorted. (Not sure why that is.)

I can't stand solitude. I love Long Island Iced Tea when it's done right. I'm currently trying to finish up school, start a side business or two, and still get involved in my favorite pastime; video games.  View profile
