Free Good Friday Coloring Pages

Coloring pictures of people, places, things, or events can be an excellent way to teach children. Parents can discuss the pictures with their kids as the kids have fun! Good Friday is the day in which Christians believe their Savior Jesus Christ died on the cross. Explaining this to children in a way that will not scare them can be tough, but coloring pages of non-graphic images can help parents to do this.

Color Me Good

Color Me Good offers six Good Friday coloring pages that can be printed for free.

  • Jesus carrying his cross - This picture can be used by parents to explain the story of how Jesus had to carry his own cross and how others stopped to help him when it became too heavy
  • A cross on a hill - While their children color this picture parents can explain the significance of the cross
  • A picture of the face of Jesus as he died - Children can be taught of the death of Christ with a mild image. They won't have the image of his bloody, broken body in their head but one of a glorified savior
  • The remaining three pictures are of three crosses on a hill showing the place where Jesus died.
Catholic Mom

Catholic Mom offers three printable Good Friday coloring pages. The first shows a cross surrounded by flowers with the inscription Jesus Loves Me. This can teach children that Christ loved them enough to die for them. The remaining two pictures are images of Jesus carrying his cross up the hill. These are tastefully done in a way that shows Jesus struggling without portraying his pain in a way that would scare children.

Super Coloring

Super Coloring offers a number of Good Friday pictures, most of which show a full body picture of Jesus on the cross. These would be good for slightly older children who would not be upset by such images.

I like that you mentioned the picture of Christ from Color Me Good isn't graphic. I don't want my daughter getting scared while talking about Jesus!
