Very soon, the lovely Hegrew celebration of Light, Hanukkah or Chanukah, will begin. Whether Jewish, Christian, Muslim or whatever your creed, Hanukkah is a lovely holiday to explore and enjoy. Here are some free lesson plans, coloring pages, puzzles, games and activities to help celebrate and understand this winter holiday.

I'm new to the Bitsela but I really like the free clip art, graphics and even free card making function you can use free on your computer. You can print entire Hebrew alphabet, numbers and other uniquely Jewish items for your class. This website is maintained by Hebrew people and has a nice layout. It's nice to see activities specifically for inter-faith families on this site as well.

Tzivos Hashem offers great learning games and lessons for Hebrew school students and those want to explore Judaism. I really like this link with great information and enjoyable activities.

Shema Yisrael offers a complete coloring book to print free, with lovely drawn illustrations.

Torah Tots has a free animated coloring for the Hebrew alphabet to print and color.

Party Games is a superb website for all your party game needs. You'll get free printable writing games and board games, like bingo, word scrambles, acrostics. But even better is the list of over 40 interactive games including dreidel games, coin games, Maccabee games and lots more. Each link gives you instructions and free printable props. Not all are free but you will have a good assortment for free choices.

Apples 4 the Teacher is a great source for lessons and units of all kinds. Apples features many cut and paste, color, color by number, puzzles, games and crafts for elementary aged students. Check out the cut and paste Menorah.

teach-nology features complete units and lesson plans for understanding and celebrating Hanukkah. You'll be able to print free acrostic poems, cross-word puzzles, adjective sheets, vocabulary, comprehension activities as well as crafts and borders. Look for KWL charts, creative writing, research activities and even songs. There are dreidel patterns, menorah cut-outs, patterns and activities to help children from any culture, creed or people to understand the Festival of Lights.

Lee Hansen is a leading website in gathering coloring pages, paper dolls and cut and paste printables from a wealth of resources. Click this link to explore the wonderful printable Hanukkah coloring, complete with dreidels and menorahs, but also many images of the Torah, Star of David and more. Lee Hansen offers loads of clip art as well.

Trust Family Fun to provide you with all the Hanukkah activities you could ask for. Besides a plethora of free printables, you'll find easy crafts for candles, dreidels, menorahs and more. You'll find a nice readable explanation for this glorious Miracle of Light.

First School years gives a nice assortment of free printable lessons and follow-up activities introducing students to Hannukah.
