Menorah Cross Stitch Patterns for Hanukkah

Donna's Crochet Shoppe offers a large menorah chart in PDF format. The stem of the menorah contains a Star of David, and the top holds nine half-burnt candles.

If you're looking for Hanukkah cross stitch patterns you can complete more quickly, check out the second menorah pattern, which is less ornate. As a result, it should work up more quickly than the first. You can obtain this pattern both in colors and in symbols.

And this small menorah would probably be the quickest to whip up. The design involves no backstitching except for nine small stitches to depict the flames atop the candles. You can keep the border for a more intricate design or ditch the border to complete the project more quickly.

Star of David Cross Stitch Patterns for Hanukkah

In your search for free Hanukkah cross stitch patterns, you may find you prefer the Star of David. This beautiful star contains several hues of thread to produce a shaded effect. You'll have to use backstitching to achieve the correct look on the star and the correct shaping for the Hebrew character at the center of the star. But I think the design merits the extra defining stitches.

You can also find a simple version of the Star of David. Like the third menorah motif, you can keep or drop the border on this chart according to your time limits or project requirements.

Free Hanukkah Cross Stitch Patterns: Hebrew Alphabets

Kooler Designs offers some free charts of the Hebrew alphabet that might work well for Hanukkah-themed cross stitch pieces. You have to open a different chart for each letter, but you can find all the charts for the small Hebrew alphabet on one page. To achieve the correct definition for each letter, you will need to finish by backstitching.

The charts for the large Hebrew alphabet include the name of the letter below. However, you could also delete the names if they don't suit your purposes for your Hanukkah cross stitch project.

Free Hanukkah Cross Stitch Patterns: Pomegranates

While the pomegranates may not be the first thing you look for regarding Hanukkah cross stitch patterns, the following charts would work well as embellishments or borders for larger designs. Although the pomegranate border is charted for needlepoint, you could just as easily work it for cross stitch.

The next blackwork page actually contains five pomegranate motifs or borders. You could work these designs entirely in straight stitches or fill in the shapes with appropriate colors of cross stitch.

Cross Stitch Patterns for Hanukkah with Sayings

You can also find free cross stitch patterns for Hanukkah that combine images and sayings. For instance, this chart includes two menorahs and two Stars of David around a middle area that contains the saying "Happy Hanukkah" in semi-fancy lettering.

This next needlepoint chart depicts burning candles above a "Happy Hanukkah" saying. It also includes a border. Though the designer intended it for needlepoint, you could easily follow it for cross stitch.

Free Hanukkah Cross Stitch Patterns: A Dreidel
