Kids of all ages love animals. Horses get a lot of attention because of their beauty and graceful nature. They are also a favorite because they can be ridden and shown in various competitions. When the next rainy afternoon hits these links are sure to keep the horse lover in your home happy and busy!

Print Activities offers a wide range of horse coloring pages for your kids. They offer old west style horses, circus horses, battle horses, and more. These are sure to please a boy or girl.

If your child is a bit older or enjoys coloring in detailed pictures, then this is the link for you. Stacy Mayer has free, original horse artwork that is printable for the children to color. These offer not only a unique coloring sheet, but they are very detailed. Even in black and white these pictures are gorgeous. These free horse pages also contain a wide variety of horse breeds to choose from.

At first glance I wasn't a huge fan of these horse printables. However, after going back and re-investigating I believe these could be useful to a creative artist. The pictures offered here are varied, but most seem to be missing the details. This offers your budding artist the perfect opportunity to fill in the blanks and develop that talent and ability a bit. In addition, filling in the details may serve to keep them busy far longer than the normal coloring page.

These pictures are another one that requires the child to fill in the details when coloring. These, however, are so excellent in their shapes that they can be used by teachers for patterns and projects aside from coloring. In addition, adults would even have fun adding the realistic details and characteristics to individualize these. These would look great in an arts and crafts project or on a bulletin board!

If you are looking for some art and craft ideas, first click the link in the paragraph right above this. Then visit Horse Crafts for Kids and look at what all you can do with the templates. There are some great ideas at this site and most require a template picture and normal household objects such as paperclips.

If you or your child enjoy working with beads, this is a nice free pattern for horse beading. You use this pattern and bead the following pattern, then you also attach a safety pin to make a piece of jewelry. This would be good for older children and craft minded adults. It would be a bit complex for a small child. There are also links explaining exactly how to use the safety pins and get started if this idea intrigues you.

Looking for a nice horse stencil? You can use stencils in a variety of craft projects. In addition, this horse stencil could be used by children to create a nice picture. Children love working with stencils and this is a very well done printable.

Preschool and Elementary teachers will find this Letter H is for Horses page with links to free printables very useful for a variety of lessons. This not only works for bulletin boards, but there are worksheets as well. You can also make a mini alphabet book and use the horse for H. The ideas are limitless.
