Free and Inexpensive Websites for Teachers or Homeschoolers

As a classroom teacher and homeschool mom, I was always on the lookout for supplemental activities and worksheets to help reinforce concepts being taught. The internet is a wonderful source of free and inexpensive information to download and print. Here are some of the wesites I found helpful.

You can print worksheets, make puzzles, print theme-related materials, download book tests, and many more options. Worksheets are divided up according to grade level. Answer keys are provided. I used this site to supplement my homeschool texts all the way through high school. The page layouts are easy to read and many of the worksheets can be created using your own questions and/or wordlists. For practice tests and study guides, you can determine what type of questions to use: multiple choice, short answer, etc.

There is a good collection of lesson plans for various subject areas. Other teaching tools found on this website are a handwriting worksheet generator, a wordsearch maker and a leveled books database. Interesting articles written by teachers can also be accessed.

These are just a few of the myriads of websites available to teachers for free and inexpensive resources. Even if a membership fee is required, the time saved and the convenience of downloading the materials on your personal computer often offset the cost.
