Free Jacket Sewing Patterns for Women
The free jacket patterns have different designs to choose from. Each of the jacket patterns can be a great addition to any wardrobe. By making your own jacket with these free sewing patterns, you can alter it to fit your body.
Not every woman has the same body shape and makes it hard when trying to buy a jacket that fits right. I have noticed when buying jackets, I can get them to fit in my bust area, but the sleeves may be to short or too long. Sometimes, they are shorter than I like them to be.
If you are having the same problems that I do, you could alter these areas to fit your body shape. I know I run into these types of problems with other types of clothing as well.
If you find the jackets are to large in the waist area, adjust the darts or seams a little at a time until you have the fit you are happy with. The same thing can be done with the arms by shortening the sleeves at the wrist or shoulder area.
If you're not sure how to do these alterations without messing up the jacket, complete the jacket and take it to an alteration shop for proper fitting. While this may cost you a few extra bucks, it will be well worth the cost for a proper fitting jacket you like.

This jacket buttons across the mid-rift. The back of the jacket flows to below the knees. There are four pattern sizes to choose from. They open in a PDF for easier printing.
Double-Breast Jacket for Women
This is a double-breasted jacket designed for women. It has a 6 button front with a seam line just below the breasts. This jacket doesn't have any patterns to download in a PDF format.
Faux leather can be used to make this jacket. There are patterns listed at the bottom of the article to print. This is different from the leather jackets I have seen in stores.
