Tips and Tricks for using Joker pumpkin templates and Batman themed templates

If you are not an experienced pumpkin carver, you might want to start with some of the simpler Joker templates and Batman pumpkin carving designs and inspirations. You can find inspiration at some of the Halloween and pumpkin template and pattern pages, as well as some Joker coloring pages listed below. Alternately, I've seen some very effective Joker pumpkins which just had a couple of dark holes for the Joker's eyes and then a smear of red lipstick or paint for the lips. Simple? Yes, but still clearly recognized as the Joker, especially if the lips mimicked the distinctive pattern of Heath Ledger's "smile".

Pick the right pumpkin and accessories: think of any template or illustration as a starting point. I think the pattern works best on taller pumpkins and would add some hair and a tie similar to what the Joker wore to add the right note of authenticity. Of course, you'll either want to use a battery-operated candle or make sure flames don't get near any flammable accessories.
