Looking to take advantage of a few more weeks of summer (like) fun events?
Check out the 'Friday Night Flicks' series down at Pershing Square now through October 28th.
Each movie will be displayed on an outdoor screen that is 40 foot wide by 20 foot high, with a full sound system. Attendees are able to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic snacks to make the night as cozy as you want.
Where: 532 South Olive St. Los Angeles, CA 90013
When: Every Friday.
Time: Movie starts at 8:00pm when the sun sets.
What: Movies includes "Inception", "Xanadu", "Sleepy Hallow", "Sixth Sense", "The Poltergeist", and "Cloverfield".
Another free event is The Downtown Art Walk, which is held the second Thursday, of every month. The Art Walk brings together the multifaceted faces of the Los Angeles art community by showcasing music, sculptures, and paintings.
Where: Spring and Main streets between 2nd and 9th streets.
When: Every second Thursday, October 13, November 10, and December 8.
Time: 6pm - 10pm.
What: Many galleries to choose from including, the Black and White Gallery, 118 Winston, Crewest Gallery, Crack Gallery, and Dialect.
Note: Art Walk Lounge, located 634 S. Spring St. is where you can pick up maps, complementary refreshments and giveaways.
Also in LA, the Tyler Perry Film Festival
The festival runs from September 17, to November 1, showing free Tyler Perry movies Saturdays and Tuesdays at 10am and 6:30pm.
