Free March Family Friendly-Activities in Joplin, Missouri

For all the programs listed below please reserve your spot by calling the Missouri Department of Conservation office in Joplin at (417) 629-3423. If for any reason after reserving your spot you are unable to make the scheduled program please give 24 hours notice so that someone else may attend in your place.
March 13 - Basic Archery Instructor Training
9a.m. - 6p.m. MSSU Leggett & Platt Center
This is a program for public and private school teachers who wish to become trained in the Mo National Archery in Schools program.
Must pre-register by March 5th and there is a $20 refundable deposit required.
March 15-19 - Spring Break Scavenger Hunt
Each day from 8a.m. - 4p.m. All ages welcome
Stop by the Conservation office at the Wildcat Glades Conservation and Audubon Center to pick up a scavenger hunt book and hit the trails.
No pre-registration is required for this program.
March 27 - Build a Bat House
2-3:30 p.m. Walter Woods Conservation Area
Many bats are coming out of hibernation this month. Spend the afternoon constructing a bat house to attract these insect-loving creatures.
This program is for ages 7 and up.
March 30 - Cabin Fever Spring Hike
5:30 - 7 p.m. Walter Woods Conservation Area
Get outside with the whole family and look for signs of spring.
