Free Marketing Ideas for Craft Selling Businesses
Free Resources to Help Get You and Your Product Noticed
Email Signatures
This is easy and free advertising. Always attach your customized signature to emails you send. A signature can be composed of a few words, or a logo, or a link. You can combine an image and a text for your signature. Be creative, but make one. If you stop and think about how many emails you send out every day you will see how valuable a signature describing your business or website is. Including a link to your website or blog is a great way to build traffic.
Free Business Cards
I know of one company on the Internet that usually offers 250 free business cards to new customers. Of course they are hoping to make a repeat customer out of you by offering the free business cards, but that will be up to you. In the meantime, order your business cards and start passing them out. Once you start making sales, you just may want to revisit the company and order more stuff.
Show Off Your Creations
If you create beautiful handbags, always leave the house with one in your hand. If you design and create jewelry, make sure you have a piece displayed prominently on you at the next party or social function you attend. If you can "wear" your craft, that is free advertising. If you design cute diaper covers, make sure your sweetpea proudly wears one at your next playgroup. If you make adorable hair bows for little girls, have your daughter (or niece, friend's daughter, co-worker's daughter, you get the idea) wear one to the park, school, birthday parties, or even shopping. You never know when someone will spot your product and want to know , "where did you get that adorable hat?" More free advertising!
Use The Internet
Start a blog. You can start your blog for free at sites like Blogger. Write posts about crafts and such. Add links to other informative site. Visit other blogs related to crafting and home businesses and leave pertinent comments. Join craft communities on the Internet and contribute ideas and suggestions on the forums. Write articles or any topic related to crafting and selling, and submit them to sites like ezine You will have people reading your article and getting to know about you and your business. The Internet is a great way to market your product lines for free.
