Free Meditation Music Finder

Meditation music is used by people as they practice various ways of connecting with the idea that there is one in a higher standing than we are, directing everything about the inner and outer worlds in which we live. Various people hold different beliefs about who or what One is to them, and there are many ways to meditate. This results in meditation music drawing from differing areas of sound to delight and entertain all listeners.

Meditation music is listened to with intense concentration, making it a fun way to relax yourself after a hard day, or have the children relax themselves after your hard day. Children especially enjoy listening to selections that are recordings of nature; the sound of birds flying south for the winter or a gentle rain storm with a surprise cricket chirping-in to tell us he's there. Others prefer tunes that have Indian sitar music in them that are reminiscent to the undercarriage of some Beatles songs.

I have gone around the internet trying to find some good online sites to download some free meditation music from for your experimentation and enjoyment. Below is a list of my findings. At the end of this article I have left you a resource link into a very good article that explains more about meditation music.

HeartSpring is an online site that caters only to people involved with meditation. HeartSpring has a nice selection of ambient radio, space, and yoga-style free meditation music available for download in MP3 format. This site also has detailed information on how to start meditating if you are a beginner. When you go into HeartSpring's comment section (on the left of the page, 4 blocks down) there is a very detailed posting about how to download this music into your computer Windows Media Player for listening to on your computer. Embrace Meditation is an online site that has some 8-15 minute free meditation music downloads in MP3 format. Your title choices include: Focus- that calls itself, 'An inspiring and uplifting track of powerful dimensions.' Patience, Head Space Oracle, Myriad Energy, and others.

At the Embrace Meditation site, if you read the smaller print information in the left-side column, near the end, there is a link to 'more free music' and I get the impression that new free meditation downloads are added to this site from time to time. Poet Seers has a very relaxing to look at online site that has 16 choices (or more) of free meditation music offerings to choose from. Each offering comes complete with detailed information about who has made it, and what meditation genre it is directed at. Poet Seers also has complete information on how to download these selections in various formats, complete with links to software that you might need before hearing your choice. I like this site very much, and give it my three-thumbs-up cheer for being completely put together in a user friendly way.

A sample of what you can find at Poet Seers is a Premik Russell Tubbs track. I am personally fond of this performer. The music is a mixture of Jazz and a Ravi Shankar type of sound if you can imagine that. I was pleasantly surprised to see Premik on this site, and quite impressed with the amount of artist information that goes with each offering available at Poet Seers. Free Meditation Music is a little confusing in their online home-page about where they are hiding the free meditation music department. When you go into this site, the music is found quickly on their very page-top tabs. This site is a little different than most in that they list meditation goals, and you click into the goal to find a free meditation music download to go with the meditation instructions on how to meet your goal.

Example: If you click into 'Healing Meditation' you will find instructions on how to meditate for this goal, and you get a thirty minute free meditation music download to use for this purpose. The music is downloaded into your computer, and they supply an on-screen music control panel. There are ten selections to choose from including Meditation for Beginner, New Age Meditation and others. Download.com is a very large music site that has oodles of MP3 free meditation music choices under their category 'Meditation & Healing'. A good way to start exploring this site is to look on the right for the new releases and most popular choices. When you click into an artist's name, there is often more than one choice of music to consider. The site search box requires that you know your artist name, and not just what kind of music that you'd like to see.

Download.com has a very easy to comprehend history of meditation music that is fun to read if you don't quite know what this is all about. They give a few sample artists names that you can use to find your music with in there. Right above this box on the center of the 'Meditation & Healing' page is a link called 'browse all artists in this genre' that should take you into many other free meditation music choices to consider.
