After a rough winter summer has finally arrived in Chicago! One of the best summertime activities in Chicago is the Movies In The Park series - and it's FREE. From Grant Park to Millennium Park to the smaller neighborhood parks that dot our city, a free outdoor movie experience is waiting for you this summer.

The Chicago Park District's free Movies In The Park series brings some of the best recent feature films along with a few classics and independent movies to our great Chicago parks. This season you can expect to see The Dark Night, Hancock, Kung Fu Panda and the Wizard of Oz among dozens of other great films. In all, there will be 120 movies shown around Chicagoland.

All of the movies screened at the Movies In The Park series are rated G through PG-13 encouraging you to make movie night a family event. In order to get the most out of the movie, make sure to bring a blanket and some snacks and beverages (non-alcoholic only). Also, do not forget the bug spray to keep away the mosquitoes and nats.

All shows start promptly at 8:30pm and are shown on giant screens that will bring back memories of the old drive in theaters and will amaze the kids. Seating is on a first come, first served basis so be sure to arrive by 8:00 to get a good place on the grass.

For a complete listing of this year's Movies In The Park, see the Chicago Park District's website at
