Free Music: Jamendo Site Review

Whoever first said "The best things in life are free" was right! And now you can apply this principle to music. Thanks to a friend, I recently discovered Jamendo, a website that offers music that is 100% free and 100% legal. You can listen online, download, and even burn CDs for your friends without the guilt or the loss of cash. Jamendo is unique in that it utilizes the Creative Commons License, which grants individuals the right to distribute copyrighted work free of charge. All artists who upload their music to Jamendo know that they are not getting paid for sharing their music. Jamendo does, however, recognize that music is art and that it does take a lot of work to produce a great album. So, the site allows people to give artists money, if they so feel inclined, as a way for the fans to say "Hey, I like your music!"

At this point, you may be wondering what kind of music is on Jamendo. Well, just about any genre you can imagine is represented on the site. There is literally music for everyone. What makes the site even better is that every song that I have listened to has been really good! The musicians on this website are serious about making great music, and it shows. When I describe Jamendo to my friends, I call it "The best music you've never heard" because chances are you haven't heard any of these artists on the radio or seen them on MTV. However, of the music that I have been listening to recently, some of my latest favorite bands I have found on Jamendo.

So, if you are looking for some great music, be sure to check out Jamendo!http://www.jamendo.com
