Free Music Practice Charts

Practice charts are a fantastic way to encourage practice time. Your children will enjoy the instant recognition of their efforts, and you will enjoy seeing the money you spend on music lessons put to good use.

Practice records can be used to show recognition for meeting specific goals like the memorization of scales or pieces for an upcoming recital. They can also be used to show recognition for meeting general goals like daily practice. Consider offering your child some type of reward for each time that they achieve their goal. It could be a letter grade or a special sticker. This type of reward is the best, because it encourages an interest in developing musical skill. If they are not responsive to this reward, and individual practice does not happen often enough when they are left to manage their own practice time, small rewards might provide the motivation they need.

Consider letting you child add their own sticker each time they achieve their goal. They will be able to visually see their own achievement. They may not always feel successful with the practice time that they put in, but they will always feel that they have achieved something.
