Free Nativity Religious Christmas Crafts for Kids

Tara Van Ness
Making holiday crafts with kids is a wonderful activity to do throughout the holiday season counting down to Christmas. If you celebrate a Christian Christmas, nativity crafts are excellent for reinforcing your Christian beliefs and reminding children that beyond the presents and Santa, there is "a reason for the season".

A Nativity refers to the birth of Jesus, and a Christmas craft involving baby Jesus' birth will typically include some or all of the following aspects: Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus in a manger, a star (from the East), a shepherd, three wise men bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, and an angel.

There are several places online you can find free nativity crafts. Here are some favorite holiday bible crafts our family likes:

Birth of Jesus Crafts

This web page contains an entire nativity series of bible crafts for kids centering around Jesus' birth. Not only will you find this page full of religious crafts, it also has Christmas Sunday school lessons and teaching aids to teach kids about the birth of Jesus.

Kids Religious Christmas Crafts

This website is chock-full of homemade Christmas creations including baby Jesus ornaments, a nativity photo frame, an "I love Jesus" wooden homemade ornament, and a shining star nativity ornament.

Holy Family Picture Craft

This is a relatively easy craft that be done with children, using Popsicle sticks to create the stable where Mary gave birth to baby Jesus. Children color a picture of Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus lying in the manger to place in the stable. This would be an excellent easy preschool craft.

Free Christmas Nativity Coloring Pages

You can make Christmas crafts with these free religious coloring pages, or just print and color. Included in this free Christmas coloring page resource are: three kings, angels, baby Jesus, Joseph, Mary, and a shepherd.

Free Religious Christmas Crafts

DLTK paper crafts are among our favorite crafts to make. These religious Christmas crafts include: advent coloring pages, star crafts, nativity felt board, Mary holding baby Jesus crafts and more.

These free holiday crafts with religious Christmas themes are all relatively easy to do and range in age level from preschool to late elementary school level. Most of them can be done with minimal supervision, but parental involvement is part of the fun of Christmas crafts! Most of all, remember that Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas!
