Minnesota Timberwolves at
Portland Trailblazers -15
Analysis: The Trailblazers are superior to the Timberwolves in every way. Minnesota has lost 10 games in a row and have now firmly established themselves as the worst team in the NBA. There horribleness is so well established that the odds makers have put a big point spread of 15 on this game. Even if the Trailblazers control this game from start to finish as expected, a point spread of 15 is a good value. One thing going for Minnesota is they are fresh while Portland is playing on a back to back. Even though the Timberwolves are the worst team in the NBA, a point spread of 15 is too high.
Pick: Timberwolves +15
Sacramento Kings at
Houston Rockets -10
Analysis: Comparing these 2 team's statistics so far, they are relatively close in several categories. I see this as a game that the Rockets should be favored in the point spread by about 6. The current point spread of 10 offers a good value for the Kings. While teams make adjustments on each other game to game, It's also worth noting the Kings already beat the Rockets earlier this year. Both teams played the night before, so there is no advantage either way as far as rest. From what I've seen so far, I would find it hard to take the Rockets to cover the point spread.
Pick: Kings +10
Chicago Bulls at
Denver Nuggets -9
Analysis: After a disappointing loss to the Clippers, the Nuggets come home to take on the Chicago Bulls. Denver outscores their opponents at home by an average 15.75 points per game. However, their one loss at home came to the Bulls earlier this year. Chicago has already proven they can beat Denver and all they have to do in this game to cover the spread is lose by 8.
Pick: Bulls +9
So there are the 3 picks for the NBA I like the most. To recap my picks:
Bulls +9
Kings +10
Timberwolves +15
