Free No Sew Eco Friendly Grocery Bag Pattern

This free no sew fabric grocery bag is a fun craft for anyone to make who does not know how to sew or simply does not like to sew. You can make an easy free fabric grocery bag pattern to keep your trips to the grocery store a little more eco friendly and not have to sew!

To Make a Free No Sew Fabric Grocery Bag You Will Need:

Felt (2 colors)

Grommets

Hammer

Jute Twine

To get started making your no sew fabric grocery bag you want to cut out two pieces of felt fabric or any other no fray fabric. These need to be 14 inches wide and 32 inches tall.

You can change these dimensions if you want, but this is a great should bag size for slinging those groceries on your shoulder and walking home.

Now take both pieces of felt and lay one top of the other flat on your table.

Fold them in half together so you now have a 14 inch wide bag form that is 16 inches tall.

On the sides, the left and right sides of the no sew fabric grocery bag you want to mark a dot in the top left and right corner.

Two inches down on either side mark another dot. Continue down to the bottom corners. Punch these holes with a needle or simply mark them on each layer of felt.

Now, trace your grommet maker onto each hole. This needs to be traced onto each layer of baric.

Install one grommet in each hole. If you can hold the two layers together and install on grommet on each, then go for it. Most likely the fabric will be too thick, so install one grommet in each spot on both layers of fabric.

Now, take a long piece of thick jute twine, at least one inch thick. Tie a knot in one end. This needs to be a secure knot that will not slip apart.

Take the other end of the jute twine or any recycled twine and start threading it in and out of the holes to hold t bag together.

When you come out of the top hole on one side, then pull the twine up to form a handle. Basically, a 20 inched piece should be left sticking put. Take the end and then start weaving down the other side.

Tip Don't place the grommets too far apart or small items will slip out!
