Free Online Cash System: Not a Scam but a Waste of Time!

Amanda RM
The Free Online Cash System (FOCS) may not be a scam, however, I would call it a waste of the average person's time. I heard about it from a few sources and decided to check it out so I had someone send me the link where I could sign up for the conference call. I listened to the entire thing and was tossing the idea of joining back and forth inside my head. I eventually decided to join but I did not have an AlertPay account, which they say is required to get paid, so I created one. I then proceeded to visit the site they had me bookmark detailing all the information I needed to join the site. First off, let me say what is required to join, according to the conference call. Then I will explain why I believe it is a waste of time.

In the call, they stated that if you wished to, you could just pay $150.00 to get in. However, it is called the Free Online Cash System, and they emphasized that paying is not necessary to join. If you choose not to pay, you first must sign up for 10 trial offers, or sign up for the internet telephone service offered as the special offer. Almost all of these offers will charge your credit card while the trial is active and then reverse the charges when you cancel or the trial has expired. After you have signed up for them all, you register and send all of your welcome emails to FOCS for verification and then you are in. However, you cannot start making money yet. You can refer people and your funds will be held, but there is another step before you can be paid. You must sign up on yet another site and complete offers there totaling 5.0 points, offers ranging from free to very expensive, 0.25 points or more. Once you have your 5.0 points for completing these offers, you can get a refund for up to $50.00, which it is possible to spend less than that, and you can finally start getting paid.

The trouble with this program is evident in some ways and not so much in others. First off, you cannot simply sign up for the trial offers and then cancel immediately or even the next day. They require that you see the trial through to the end, and in some cases do things to complete them. I only made it through the first seven offers before I got annoyed and stopped. I decided it was too much of a pain to do and I will tell you why shortly. Only one, the autos.com offer was not a trial of the ones I did. I am glad I decided against it though because some of the sites it was difficult to locate their cancellation links and for one, Stamps.com, you could not cancel via the website. You had to call them and have them cancel and then they practically beg you to reconsider.

Why did I decide it was a pain? It took a while to get through all the offers and none of them were anything I would use. Even the emusic one, which sounded good at the time, didn't have any of the artists I searched for, artists which are extremely well known. I also figured if I have to sit here and sign up for all these trials I will never use and possibly even forget to cancel, and then turn around and do all these offers on yet another site, it wasn't worth it to get $150.00 per referral. The reason for this is that I stink at getting referrals for anything, let alone referrals that would sit there and have the patience to sign up and buy all that stuff you have to do to get in. Even if you get a refund, you do spend money out of pocket and they do not pay you for the time you invested in doing all these offers. I don't know a single person with the patience to do all of this.

So, even if it is legitimate and not a scam, it is a waste of the average person's time and only really worth it for people who are super good at getting referrals, referrals who would sign up and do all the prerequisite offers themselves. This is why I believe that although the Free Online Cash System is not a scam, the average person would simply be wasting their time, money, and resources on a program like this.

To be honest, I wouldn't go back to this site, revamped or not. Still seems like a waste of time to me and it still doesn't justify the almost impossible to find links, and the sponsors that nag you to pieces about not cancelling, and the time you put into it, as well as the money, just to barely break even. That's dumb!

Those of you who may encounter this article are reading outdated information. It is now very flexible and you only need to do 2.5 or 3.5 credits to join. The rebate system has been revamped as well and changed to a more profit sharing approach. Meaning you get a fixed return regardless of how much you spend on offers. The more credits you do, the more profit you can actually get.

There is also another alternative that you only need to do a single offer that gives you a $10 profit so you actually get paid to join in less time. Very fantastic deal. I'll tell you that.
