Free Online Games for Pre-schoolers

As pre-schoolers start to learn how to point and click their way around the computer, they will want to also have a little fun on the computer. Luckily there is a huge selection of great on-line, free, pre-school games. If your child watches any television programming geared towards pre-schoolers, there is probably a website with a free, on-line games for it.

Pre-school aged children will probably need help navigating around the computer, at least at first. Make sure you are on hand to watch what they are doing and help when they get stuck. An older sibling would also be a great "coach" for your pre-schooler at the computer. Before long, your child will be pointing and clicking with the best of them. Here are just a few web sites with games for pre-school aged children.

Playhousedisney.com: Playhouse Disney can be kind of complicated to navigate, especially if you aren't that familiar with the way things are set up. Most of the games that are associated with television shows are free. These include Higleytown Heroes, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins, Jojo's Circus, and Mickey's Clubhouse. There are games, activities, stories and music for each of these shows. There are also several places on Disney's site that are games for purchase. Many of them offer free trials before you buy, but it requires downloading information on your computer and is definitely not something a pre-school aged kid would know how to do. There are also plenty of ideas for holiday crafts and coloring pages to print out.

Nickjr.com: Nickjr.com is another great site associated with a kid's television channel. Just as with Playhouse Disney's web site, kids will find games, stories and music with all of their favorite Nick Jr. shows at the Nick Jr. web site. Many shows that may not be in the current line-up still have games represented. There is Miss Spider, Blue's Clues, Dora, Diego, and Max and Ruby, just to name a few. The games are all designed for pre-school aged children and are lots of fun.

Funschool.kaboose.com: Funschool is a great website for educational games for pre-school aged children. They have pattern and math games, numbers and ABC's, matching and finding opposites, and more. There is even a game where kids can design their very own cartoon character. With over 57 different games on this web site, your child is sure to find something fun. And, you can feel good that they are starting to learn important skills.

Noggin.com: Noggin has some of the same character games as Nick Jr., but also a large variety of other character games. Noggin's games tend to be a little more educational that Nick Jr. or Playhouse Disney. There are lots of printable games, mazes, connect the dots, puzzles and story makers. They also have arts and crafts ideas. Some of the games include Oobi's Remember Game, Muffy and Friends Same and Different, Connie the Cow Matching and Categorizing, and Maisy's ABC's.

Pre-school aged children don't need to sit patiently while their older siblings have all the fun with on-line computer games. These sites offer great age-appropriate games your 3-5 year old will have fun playing, all while learning to use a mouse and become comfortable around a computer.
