GED Sample Tests
The GED has five sections: Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts Reading, and Language Arts Writing. GED students must pass all five tests with a score of 410 or higher, and a combined total of 2,250 in order to receive a passing score overall and to be awarded a GED diploma.
For students with strong reading skills, the Language Arts Reading GED is the easiest of the section. It is basically reading comprehension and testing. The Language Arts Reading section incorporates passages from works of literature, poetry, technical manuals, and other types of writing to create a reading comprehension test that verifies that the student who passes possesses the basic reading skills needed for a high school equivalency ability.
