Free Online Self-Paced Training for Microsoft Office Products

If you have upgraded to the new Microsoft Office 2007 you probably noticed first how different everything is from the previous versions. This can take a lot of time to find what you need when working on a project. But Microsoft has made available online free self-paced training classes that you can take for Office 2007. There are also courses still online for Office 2003 that you can take. There are courses available for each of the Microsoft Office products.

Once you choose an online tutorial that you want to take you will be taken to an overview page that explains what the course is about, how long it will be, and what Version of Office it is for. It also has a rating to tell you about how many people thought it was useful. There is also a link there that you can download a free 60-day trial version, or purchase the version of Office that this training is on. This is useful if you don't have the version installed yet, and you can do the examples they show you so you can learn.

Once you read over the goals, and the suggestions that they give you about what you should already know before taking this specific course you then begin learning how to do this task. Each page that you go through will give you screen shots showing you exactly how to do the task, and it also has audio to walk you through each step. It gives several examples and several ways to do the one task, so you are given options for it. At the top of each page it shows your progress of where you are in the course.

At the end of the course there is an example that you can download so that you can try out your new skills that you learned. Once you click practice in the program, it will automatically download the file that you need and open the program that you need to have opened. Then it gives you step by step again of the tasks that you need to do. After you do the examples you then can take a short quiz to see how much you retained during the course.

After you taken the course in the course titles home page you will see a checkmark beside that course that will alert you that you have successfully completed that course. This is one way that you can keep up with what you have taken if you don't have a chance to complete them all in one setting.

This is all free training from Microsoft that will cover many of your common tasks using their office products.
