Free Typing Games.net (www.freetypinggame.net): This website is fun for children or beginners learning how to type. Finding and using the keys on the keyboard can be fun without the stress of trying to type many documents or trying to find your way around a keyboard "blindly." Some of the games include typing fun such as "Keyboard Revolution" that is similar to the game, "Dance, Dance Revolution. Players may use characters like a duck or ballerina to type letters or phrases to make the character dance on the squares. There are also driving typing games such as "Desert Typing Racer" that allows the typist to dance letters and phrases while racing down the open roads in the desert. If you are looking for space adventure, check out the "Meteor Typing Blast" where you can blast meteors and UFOs as you type away into outers-pace.
Free Typing Test and Certification (www.alfatyping.com): If you are looking to certify your typing skills for a current job or just looking to update your resume, this website will allow you to take a typing test. Once you have been certified, they will mail you a certificate for free. You may take the available lessons and test in two different keyboard layouts: Latin (English) or Cyrillic (Russian). There are available lessons for the Latin English version and 50 lessons for the Russian version. After an individual takes all of the lessons and the results are analyzed, he/she will be given access to the final certification. If the final certification is passed, a certificate will be mailed. Each individual is given three chances to pass the exam. Everyone who takes the lessons and certification must register for an account, but the lessons, exam and certificate is all free. This is especially useful for students or workers who are on a tight budget or even individuals who work at home and want to brush up their typing skills.
So if you are looking to help your child learn more about typing, allow him or her to have some fun playing the typing games. For older children, college students or those in the workforce, being able to update a resume with a typing certificate can help in acquiring an office job or even help moving up in a current position as well.

Post a CommentThank you so much for this information. I will definitely go on both of these sites to speed up my typing.
I'm hoping to find a certification for being a moderately highly proficient four fingered, one thumbed typist. Oh, I have all ten digits, but that's how I use the keyboard. I think I actually developed this admittedly bad habit intentionally to frustrate my High School typing teacher, Mr. Zecker... It drove him nuts. Can anyone point me in the right direction? (Any finger on either hand would be swell.) Thanks!
