This to me is insane since most of the material pillowcases are made from can be bought at any store that sells fabric. I have found many of these fabric stores where I live often have fabric on sale for less than a set of plain pillowcases. Or, at least near the same price as a set of cheap pillowcases.
With the price of pillowcases without the sheets, makes me use the ones I have until they are beyond repair. The money I earn; I work hard for and I know you do too. Knowing that saving money whenever you can is a huge bonus for many of us.
Having the basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine, a tape measure, and seam allowances, anyone can make their own pillowcases. Yes, I know, buying pillowcases that are already made is easier than making them yourself. But, wouldn't saving a couple of bucks be worth making your own?
Think about it, you have three beds in your home and each has two standard pillows per bed, wouldn't saving about $12 be worth it? $12 for some people would mean being able to buy enough milk and cereal for their kids for a week or close to it.
Anyways, making your own pillowcases with these free patterns can help keep your beds partially furnished with bedding. The following pillowcase patterns are the standard style of pillowcases found in stores.

The envelope back pillowcase pattern can be used for pet beds, throw pillows, decorative pillows for your bed, and more. The pillow case encloses the pillow in an end-to-end style envelope. This will keep the pillows from slipping out of the pillowcase.
Using any of the pillow cases listed in this article, make a coordinating background pillowcase for the appliqued puppies. The puppy pillowcase pattern will be in a PDF. You will need to click the bolded link for the applique pattern pieces. You will be able to print from there.
