Vanessa Faultz
So you think you're pregnant. The first thing you do is go down to your local drugstore to purchase a home pregnancy test. After 10 minutes of digesting the fact that you actually have to buy a pregnancy test, you realize that you've spent your last $15.99 on a gallon of gas. Since you simply must know whether or not you're pregnant but have no money to spare, you need know the best resources to find free tests. They are not often advertised however, here are 3 places to get or find free pregnancy testing.

Pregnancycenters.org

An extremely helpful option when searching for a place to get free pregnancy testing is pregnancycenters.org. They offer to "take your calls and e-mails at answers@optionline.org 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They will listen to your needs, and connect you to a local pregnancy center that offers free pregnancy tests, consultations about all pregnancy options, and many other confidential services." If email does not offer a quick enough response, you can also phone them on their "OptionLine" at (800) 395-HELP, during the same hours listed above. When going to the site, they ask for your full address and what services you would like in order to find the best center that suits you. However, you can put in as little as your zip code and receive ample results.

Free Clinics

Though you are sure to find a sufficient place to receive a free pregnancy test at the website listed above, here is another option. Free or family clinics are also great places to be tested for pregnancy at no cost. In order to find the nearest free clinic in your area, visit HRSA.gov--the site for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources, or click the link provided. Here, you will also have to put in your location in order to find a clinic near but as stated above you may simply put in your zip code and get the same results. Depending on the time of day, a free clinic can be extremely crowded and uncomfortable. Remember, these clinics offer services not just to women but to children and men as well. Also, depending on the location of the clinic, you run the risk of bumping into friends and nosy people, so beware.

College or University Campus

If you are a student at a college or university, most health service centers on campus offer free pregnancy testing. In order to find out whether or not this service is provided, visit your campus' health department for more details.

These three options should be very sufficient in finding you a place for free pregnancy testing and even getting further consultation if need be. These days it's important to save money and especially if you are pregnant, you need to start saving up and finding freebees and bargains wherever you can get them. Good Luck!
