Memorial Day and 4th of July conjure up images of flags, parades, flowers, soldiers, banners and all that is most beautiful in America. While you may not think of Memorial Day as a holiday for sending greeting cards, especially with the high cost of cards and postage. Memorial Day is a particularly special day for soldiers and older citizens however. Senior citizens love patriotic holidays like the 4th of July and Memorial Day because they can remember with nostalgia the soldiers coming home from overseas, the parades, those loved and lost. Senior citizens also really enjoy receiving greeting cards. 4th of July and Memorial Day are a bittersweet holidays for relatives of fallen soldiers and for those who served in the armed forces, too

How about sending a greeting card to a soldier, sailor, veteran or senior citizen for Memorial Day. If you are teaching, leading a scout troop or home-schooling this a perfect 4th of July or Memorial Day activity for your students.
