Free Printable Advent Calendar Countdown to Christmas Crafts

Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas. During Advent we focus on prayer, fasting and almsgiving in preparation for the Feast of Christmas. Many people use an Advent calendar to countdown to Christmas. Here are free printable advent calendars. Advent calendars feature little windows that are numbered. Children open one window each day before Christmas. Some advent calendars have a Bible verse that follows the Christmas story of Jesus's birth in Bethlehem.

-Kid's Turn Central (click here) has a simple free printable advent calendar. There is a free printable Christmas tree and another page of printable ornaments numbered 1-25. Each night before Christmas, children countdown to Christmas by adding one ornament to the tree. Parents may also want to write Bible passages on the back of each ornament. This Advent calendar can be printed in color or black and white. If you print in black and white, children can color one ornament daily.

-Family Fun (click here) has a complete free printable countdown to Christmas Advent calendar (scroll to the middle of this page for links). To assemble your countdown to Christmas Advent calendar, cut out all the Advent activities and fold each in half. Glue the back of the activity card to the correct window on the tree. Glue the corresponding ornament to the front folded half of the activity card. This will create a window with the activity printed on the inside. Open one each day and complete the activity. For a religious Advent calendar, print your own Bible verses on the inside instead of the activities.
