Five Websites that Offer Great Invitations

Shannon Lausch
Printing free invitations is a great way to save money for your baby shower. Worried that free invitations will look tacky? Many websites offer high-quality baby shower designs that don't cost a cent. The only expense you may want to make is cardstock paper to print sturdier, more attractive looking invitations for your baby shower. The following five websites offer free printable invitations:

Plan the Perfect Baby Shower

Plan the Perfect Baby Shower offers 28 printable baby shower invitations. Each one has its own cartoonish, colorful border. Polka dots, stripes, or star borders adorn most of the invitations. There is also Winnie the Pooh and Sesame Street themed cards. Light-hearted sentiments on these cards include, "Sweet Pea, Come Celebrate a Baby Shower," "Oh Baby, It's a Baby Shower," and "A Star is Born, You're Invited to a Baby Shower."

To print these cards, you must save it to your hard drive and print it from there, or copy and paste it into a word processing or graphic design program. This website is one of the best for its variety and quality of baby shower invitations.

Rusty Bumper World

Rusty Bumper World is another great baby shower website. It offers 21 baby shower invitations. The cards are modest with most using pastel colors and bubbles. Two are ornately designed and four use photos of baby feet. The message for all is a rather plain "It's a Baby Shower."

The cards here are simple to print. Just clicking on one will pop up Adobe Reader and be ready to print. Two cards share one page.

Creative Baby Shower Ideas

Creative Baby Shower Ideas has eight cards available. The design for these cards is simple. The border depictions are a stripe border with a centered crown, a stripe border with a centered ship, a polka dot border, and a baby footprint border. Each one is available in pink or blue. Each card also has a unique message including, "It's a Royal Celebration," "Ships Ahoy! It's a Boy!," and "Little Hands, Little Feet."

Like with Plan the Perfect Baby Shower, you must save these cards to your hard drive to be able to print them.

Family Shopping Bag

Family Shopping Bag offers 27 free printable baby shower invitations (located on the right-hand column of the website). The cards differ greatly in design. Some invitations are half-folds and others are quarter-folds. Some have a few clipart illustrations, while other cards have full color designs. The designs themselves include babies, bottles, diapers, toys, animals, and Mickey Mouse.

Saving the picture to your hard drive and printing it from the location there is the surest way to get a quality printing of these cards (some are too big for a simple copy and paste to work well).

Activity Village

Activity Village has four baby shower invitations. The cards are cute and cartoonish. "Pretty in Pink" features hearts and an umbrella. "A Star is Born" shows numerous smiling stars. "Bouncing Baby" illustrates a kangaroo and her baby. And "Ray of Sunshine" depicts a smiling sun and cloud.

The invitations are easy to print and will pull up a fully formatted version in Adobe Reader with a simple click.
