Columbus Day is an official holiday. October 1492 is when Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas. Many people may not realized that on the second Monday in October is when the Canadians celebrate their Thanksgiving. These two events are on the second Monday in October.

Columbus led four expeditions to the Americas. Although, his original goal was to find a waterway route to Asia, discovering the Americas is what he is most remembered for as an explorer.

There are many areas in history of the discovery of the Americas Columbus had his hands in. Students can use the coloring sheets as part of a report they write about Christopher Columbus.     Glad to know that Columbus isn't any older than I am. 1942 he sailed the ocean blue. Ha Ha, easily done, but should be changed
