Christian Bale will undoubtedly take his place with the best of the Batman character actors of the past: George Clooney, Val Kilmer, Michael Keaton and the others. Heath Ledger game the Joker's character a menace and demented side that almost rivals Tim Curry's clown in IT. Adults, teens and older kids love this new Batman- Dark Knight.

For fans of Batman Dark Knight or any Batman fans, and for children who need some Batman fun, here are links for free printable Batman coloring pages. Associated Content has another article with links to 115 free printable Batman coloring pages, but the links I've listed here are different from those websites. These are free printables which require no user information to print. You will need to turn off your pop-up blocker to print your coloring pages.

Hugolescargot is a site written in French with 57 Batman images to color. In French, coloring pages are called 'coloriage'. To print the images without ads or banners, double click on the picture. The images are very clear and detailed. Some are from vintage Batman coloring books. You will see 'Precedent' which means 'previous' and 'suivant' which means 'next', to help you navigate through the coloring page images. Accueil must mean 'landing page' or character coloring 'main' page, because that is where it takes you.

Caution! Yahoo! Geocities offers a webpage with 20 Batman coloring pages, but the links to these pages are dead. Fortunately, many of the coloring pages are available at Hugolescargot.

Coloring.ws has twenty Batman coloring pages. To print the image, simply double click the image on the list, and select 'No-Ad Version' and then 'Print'. The coloring pages are very large and fill the whole screen. You will need Javascript enabled; you can enable Java from your Tools menu, under Internet Options.

Educational Coloring Pages has three nicely drawn coloring pages of Batman and bats.

Fun with Pictures has four coloring pages. Each coloring page is a collection of Batman images: one with Bat vehicles, another with Batman villans and enemies, and another with other Batman friends.

Lastly, Cartoon Critters offers 20 Batman coloring pages. To print the images, you must right click or use the small attached toolbar, which I was unable to access. Right clicking did not work for me, because Print image is not an option on Mozilla's right-click menu. Mozilla users can choose 'Save to File' and print from there, however. Print Image is an option on Internet Explorer, so you may want to print these coloring pages from IE.
