Do you have a birthday coming up for anyone who loves Disney characters? Disney themed parties are pretty pricey at major party outlets like Great Party. I priced out a High School Musical Party for eight children. The total bill would have come to a staggering $150, just for decorations, cards and a few prizes. Would you like to design a complete Disney themed party right from your home computer? Yes I am serious. This guide will walk you through a complete Disney themed DIY party!

First we need some good Disney images. For this part, you'll need to visit www.i-love-disney.com . You can download the images and clip art to your computer and save them under 'my pictures' in the 'My Documents' folder. These are just a few of the many you can choose from.

Using your document creator tool (MS Word, WordPerfect, or even wordpad), look for templates for the kinds of projects you want to make: invitations, posters, greeting cards, thank you notes, place cards, placemats, etc. If you don't have a template for something, you can check the website of your document product. They often have free downloads for project templates. Select the 'add graphics' feature. This will allow you to add images to your project. If you have downloaded the corresponding font, select that font from tools to compose the text you want. Print on 'everyday' for the better images. The 'fast economical' print option actually does a pretty nice job and saves on ink.

Here are a few simple ways to make more Disney themed party accessories and supplies:

Download Disney fonts to use on your supplies and stationary. Check out more fonts at Pooh's Honey Jar.

Napkins, plates and cups, simply pick plain color that corresponds to the Disney theme.

Goodie bags: Print the image in the middle of a regular sheet of paper. Fold the bottom of the paper up one half an inch. Fold the sides in to meet in the middle and just over lap. Tape the bottom and middle seam shut, and you have a bag! Trim the top with fancy scissors if you like.

Banner: Print full sized images and hang them from a string across the door, ceiling or table (like flags or pennants).

May all your Disney dreams come true with this DIY themed party!
