May is the month for spring and fairy magic. I'm personally very fond of fairies, sprites, nymphs, nyads, dryads, pixies and all manner of wee folk who live in the forest. I love enchantment and magic. Do you like fairies and fantasy? Here are dozens of free printable fairy craft activities.

Family Fun (click here) Family Fun likes fairies, magic and enchantment, just like me. Here is their free printable Mythical creatures tree house. It comes with cut and paste mushroom fairy hut and tree house, guaranteed to please the even the fussiest fairy.

To people your fairy homes, here are three pages of free printable mythical creatures. There are four sprites each clad in a different color dress, hair style and skin tone. There are also two free printable fairies: one nyad and one dryad. I believe their job is to supervise the pixies and sprites and make sure they don't misbehave.

There is also a page with a centaur (half man, half horse) and a faun (man with goat legs, like Mr. Tumnus in "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"). This one has a little pan flute. It might be Pan himself. Your mythical creatures creatures playset includes two unicorns and four gnomes (or dwarves).

Family Fun's mythical creatures play set prints in bright, cheery colors, so be sure to set your printer on color. If you want to color it yourself, set your printer preferences to "print in grayscale" or "black ink cartridge" from the color management tab. Each character is made to stand up. The character prints double sided. After printing, cut around each character, but don't cut on the dotted line down the middle. Fold on that side to show creature on both sides.

Family Fun has several other fairy printables:

Here are more links to free printable fairy princess crafts. With all these printables, you'll have a complete party theme, with crafts, decorations, greeting cards, invitations and party games.

This would make a cute tea party or summer solstice theme party, too. Midsummer Night's Eve is coming on June 21 for 2011.
