Free Printable Great Composer Coloring Pages

Active learners are engaged learners, and great composer coloring pages can make that happen. They are a great way to introduce the classics. Just pass out the crayons and put on a CD. As students color, they will become familiar with the composer and their music. When the music is reintroduced, students will typically enjoy it more.

Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany in 1770, to Johann van Beethoven and Maria Magdalena Keverich. Although Beethoven's exact birth date is not known, his family celebrated it on December 16. Beethoven's first music instruction came from his father Johann who was said to have been a harsh instructor. Johann later asked his friend, Tobias Pfeiffer, to teach young Beethoven. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg, Austria, where his father Leopold was a violinist and composer. Wolfgang (or Wolferl, as his family called him) was a child prodigy. He composed his first piece of music at age five; he had his first piece published when he was seven; and he wrote his first opera when he was twelve.
