Free Printable Hanukkah Crafts

Marilisa Kinney Sachteleben
Hanukkah, Chanukkah, the 'festival of light' is celebrated on the 25th of Kislev in the Jewish calendar. On the western calendar Hanukkah falls near Christmas. Here are free printable Hanukkah crafts: dreidel, gelt, menorah, treats, decorations. Hanukkah is celebrated for eight days; for 2010, Hanukkah begins at sundown on December 1st. and goes until December 9.

Martha Stewart (click here) has a whole page of beautiful Hanukkah crafts and home decor. To find the free printables, click on each craft and click 'get the how-to' or 'make this crafts'. From 'Get the how-to' or 'make this craft' there are links for free printable patterns, templates, designs and crafts included in the directions. Martha Stewart's website often refers to the free printable activities as 'clip art'. I have found many free printable crafts on Martha Stewart listed as 'clip art'. On the Hanukkah crafts page, you'll find free printable Star of David and menorah stencils, a print and fold paper dreiel crafts, gelt (money)boxes, star patterns and patterns for table and home decor. Be sure to explore the other holiday and craft activities pages on Martha Stewart.com.

The Toymaker (click here): The Toymaker is one of my favorite websites for free printable craft projects. Each project is beautifully designed. I also like The Toymaker because she doesn't restrict herself to 'western' crafts only. The Toymaker has crafts for many religions and cultural observances. For Hanukkah, there are seven free printable crafts:

a gelt basket
dreidel boxes (to hide treats and play 'spin the dreidel')
a Star of David (six pointed star)
a Little Dreidel Booklet
a Chanukah box
a menorah (nine branched candle holder)
stationary to write a Hanukkah letter
