Free Printable Math Worksheets for 2nd Grade

One of my favorite grades to teach has been 2^nd and while I was teaching second grade, a large part of my lesson planning involved planning out the centers. I completely believe that hands on activities in the centers are the best, but I also believe there is a place for math worksheets in centers at times.

I always had 2^nd grade math worksheets in the centers as a back up if the children finished up all the activities in the math center. Math worksheets for second grade was completely optional, if the kids wanted to work on them, they could and if they didn't want to, they were not required to do so. Some of the kids disliked the math worksheets while some of the other children loved the math worksheets.

Whenever I was doing lesson planning and preparing the math worksheets for the week, I would typically go on the internet and find free printable 2^nd grade math worksheets that were related to the area of focus in math that we were working on for the week. I would then put the worksheets to the side in case I needed them for the centers during the week.

Normally any 2^nd grade math worksheets that I had left over I would save till the end of the year and make math packets up for those children that I think needed extra support in math over the summer. It seemed most of the kids were excited and the parents really appreciated it.
