Nik Minor
Number stencils are a fun, cheap and easy way to transform art and craft projects, household goods, or to use as a teaching tool. In particular, they are an excellent tool for those who lack artistic ability. Printable stencils aren't just for new moms, teachers and craft enthusiasts. There are a number of practical uses for free, printable number stencils.

Uses for Free, Printable Number Stencils

Craft Ideas

For some reason number stencils produce a much cooler looking number than most drawn ones, particularly when combined with the right color. Use white stencils on a basic clay flower pot. If you've got more than one, use sequential numbers on a set of three to place along your porch or window. The same can be done on empty beer or wine bottles. Place faux flowers or candles inside when done. Avoid the hassle of pumpkin carving by using stencils to design your pumpkin.

Practical Uses

Number stencils can also be used for a number of practical reasons. Use them to put your address on your porch column or doors. Use them to update your mailbox. Does your daughter play on a sports team? Use them to make team shirts or bags for your kids or church softball team. Label sports helmets and equipment. Or use printable number stencils to revamp your car. Printable number stencils are great for making signs for your business or an upcoming garage sale or party.

Make Kid's Games

Memory

Use your printable number stencils to make a Memory game to help your child learn to identify numbers. Cut out even pieces of cardboard, cardstock or construction paper and stencil matching pairs of number 0 through 20. As she progresses, add number 21 through 30.

Flash Cards

Or simply stencil numbers onto bigger slices of cardstock for easy, homemade flash cards. Find animal and bug stencils to include on each flash card.

When printing your free stencils, printing them on card stock will ensure that they last longer. Save on ink by lower the ink quality prior to selecting "print." To do this, select Properties, and then adjust your ink quality (if your printer has the Quick Print option, selecting it will save you on ink without significantly reducing the quality). Involve your kids by letting them help you cut out your stencils.
