Rapunzel is a classic, German fairy tale and one of many tales picked up by the Brothers Grimm and included in their popular, timeless collection. With Disney's Rapunzel release just around the corner, it's likely to get much more popular. Like many fairy tales, Rapunzel is designed to make little girls go weak in the knees. The formula is almost identical: a young woman, trapped by unfortunate circumstances for which she is not at fault, endures a lonely adolescence before being rescued by a prince, who carts her off to his kingdom to live happily ever after, but not before facing off with the evil female villain.

Disney has picked up Rapunzel for an animated retelling, to the delight of 5-year old girls around the nation, which is set to hit theaters in November 2010. In the meantime, your little girls can brush up on their Rapunzel knowledge with these free, printable Rapunzel coloring pages.
